MICHAEL L. "MIKE" MILLER, 58, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Cary Klatt will officiate. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home Saturday morning Visitation will be held Friday, September 23 at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Mike was born on February 24, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to David V. & Barbara (Walker) Parks. He lived in Chicago, Illinois, Knoxville, Tennessee, grew up mostly in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and also lived in Fremont, Nebraska before moving to Cherokee, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Peggy Carlson on October 31, 2009 in Cherokee. Mike worked for Olan Mills for several years, Wilson Foods for 10 years, was an automotive & motorcycle mechanic, owned Miller Photography in Cherokee and worked for Dakota Gallery until his health failed He was a member of Abate of Iowa and CMA of Iowa. He had a love of motorcycles, hunting, fishing, photography and especially time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father David V. Parks.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Peggy Miller of Cherokee, Iowa; his children: Michael L. Miller Jr. of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Barbara A. Arnold (Rick) of Waterloo, Iowa; Jon L. Miller (Holly) of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Melissa K. Miller of Carroll, Iowa; Robby G. Weber of LaSalle, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; his mother: Barbara Zapor of Tionesta, Pennsylvania; his siblings: Bill (Marilyn) Miller of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Steve (Carla) Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; Patricia Ainslie of Lakewood, Washington; Hugh "Rocky" Miller of Butler, Pennsylvania; Jerry "Wayne" Miller of Tionesta, Pennsylvania; David Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska; Renita (Mark) Greene of Cherokee, Iowa.
