Obituary

MILDRED A. HYNDMAN, 90, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27th, at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Bruce Rapp will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m.at the Church on Thursday. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Mildred was born May 3, 1925 in Cherokee County, Iowa to Bert and Letha (Doupe) Everett. She graduated from Meriden High School in 1943. She was married to Winston Hyndman on November 10, 1946 in Cherokee, Iowa. She had lived in Cherokee the past 42 years, prior to this on a farm in Diamond Township. Mildred worked at the Cherokee County Courthouse for a few years, Western Auto Store, worked side by side with her husband at the Commodity Office, Coast to Coast and Lee's Hardware for several years. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church, was chairperson of the church funeral committee for many years, member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a Birthday Club. She enjoyed reading, collecting Precious Moments and other crafts and enjoyed having coffee with friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Winston Hyndman on October 1, 1987, brother-in-law Daryl Lindstrom, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard & Elma Hyndman.

She is survived by three sons: Craig Hyndman of Worland, Wyoming; Kent (Christy) Hyndman of Mankato, Minnesota; Chris (Bobbie) Hyndman of Amarillo, TX; 6 grandchildren; Lisa (Brad) Bock of Waconia, MN; Kelly (Mark) Nevermann of Chanhassen, MN.; Jill (Curt) Minter of Denver, CO; Aaron Hyndman of Worland, WY; Brett Hyndman of Amarillo, TX; Jamie Hyndman of Denver, CO.; 12 great grandchildren, a sister Mary Lou Lindstrom of Cherokee, Iowa
