NANCY L. CROUCH, 87 , of Washta, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Washta United Methodist Church.  The church is handicap accessible. Pastor Barb Dinelli will officiate.  Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery at Holstein, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 3:00 pm. Nancy was born on December 8, 1934 in Arthur, Iowa to Glenn and Ruth (Sheldon) Nelson.  She attended Holstein Schools, graduating in 1953.  She was married to Jim Lenz on February 28, 1954, where they lived and farmed North of Holstein. She later married Gary Crouch on December 17, 1993 at Cherokee and moved South of Washta, Iowa.

She worked for Central Bank for 37 ½  years and Heritage Bank  in Athon, Iowa, where she was an Assistant Vice President until her retirement in 2000. .

She was a member of the Washta United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Cherokee Business and Professional Women's group, the Washta Cemetery Association, Washta Neighborhood Club, card clubs, and Rummikub club in Cherokee.

In her free time she enjoyed hiking, fishing, feeding the birds, and spending time with Sheila, her grand-dog.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Jim Lenz and Gary Crouch; siblings, Marvin Nelson, Peggy Peloquin, and Warren Nelson; and sister-in-law, Margaret Nelson.

She is survived by her children, Amy Crouch (Steve Tonsfeldt) of Remsen, Iowa, Michael Crouch of Charlestown, Indiana; three grandchildren, Steven Johnson of Rossie, Iowa, Mackenzie Crouch of Chicago, Illinois, and Logan Crouch of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Wayne Nelson of Chicago, Illinois; also several nieces and nephews.
