Obituary

NANCY J.  (CLARK)  NIELSEN , 69, of rural Quimby, Iowa, passed away Wednesday morning, November 13, 2019 at her residence and she has donated her body to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

I would like everyone to know that my work here is done. I have received a call, a sort of offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which I will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign on bonus, a reunion with family and friends that I have not seen in a long time. Job security is 110%. My new mission takes me to a wonderful place, music and laughter and love are guaranteed, the food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. I am leaving instructions for my husband and children and precious grandchildren to celebrate my mission here which has been completed.

Nancy was born June 17, 1950 to Roger and Kathryn (Godfrey) Clark and grew up in Washta, Iowa. She was united in marriage to David K. Nielsen on December 27, 1968; Both members of the Community of Christ Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Family was very important to Nancy, especially her grandchildren.

Nancy had worked for several businesses in Cherokee over the years, including; Wilson Foods, Coast to Coast Store, Kindwall, Burkhardt & Dawson, Miller-Mac, Central Bank Insurance, retiring on June 1, 2015.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Kathryn Clark, Brother: Tom Clark; Sisters: Susan Winters, Janet Lockwood, and Rosalie Hunwardsen; Brothers-in-law: Ron Johnson, Ted Lockwood, and Terry Winters.

Left to cherish her memories: Loving Husband David K. Nielsen; two children: Kent (Sophia) Nielsen of Brazoria, Texas; Ginger Nielsen of Brazoria, Texas; three grandchildren: Kathryn Nielsen, Victoria Nielsen and George Nielsen; Brother: Russell (Jane) Clark of Galena, Missouri; Sisters: Kay (Lowell) Thomsen of Galena, Missouri; Mary Johnson of Ida Grove, Iowa; Brother-in-law: Dale Hunwardsen of Anthon, Iowa; Sister-in-law: Betsy Clark of Washta, Iowa; Numerous nieces and nephews. As well as extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 30 th , at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Brad Millard will officiate. There will be no visitation.
