NANCY L. STATLER, 75, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Tuesday evening, June 30, 2015 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Jean Morse will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with friends of the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Nancy was born March 30, 1940 at Quimby, Iowa to Clarence and Gretchen (Farwell) Statler. She had been involved with the Cherokee Work Activity Center since October of 1974 and was an active participant in the Mid-Step Program for over 30 years. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Nancy had lived at the Ridgeview Village Apartments in Cherokee. She enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, bowling and taking care of her parakeet.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Jerry Meinel.
She is survived by a brother Larry (Sharon) Statler of Jurupa Valley, California; sister Mary Ann Fulton of Glendora, California; Arden Brush of Hemet, California; a brother-in-law Paul Meinel of Glendora, California; and her extended family of friends in the Cherokee area.
