ORVILLE L. SUND , 79, of Quimby, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

Orville was born on May 1, 1941 at Blabon, North Dakota to Conrad and Agnes (Lindbo) Sund. He attended Pickert School in North Dakota. He was a United States veteran serving in the Army from June of 1958 until August of 1962. He was married to Phyllis Bays on September 16, 1964 at Sawyer, North Dakota. He had worked at the Pickert Grain Elevator, was a farm laborer and had farmed for himself for a few years. He had also worked as a house siding installer for several years. He had been a resident of Quimby, Iowa the past 15 years and prior to that had lived in Finley, North Dakota.

Orville enjoyed farming in his younger years, woodworking, restoring old tractors and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Norma Sund and a brother-in-law Calvin Meyers.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Quimby, Iowa; his three children: Scott (Marsha) Sund of Quimby, Iowa; Richard (Heidi) Sund of Minneapolis, MN and their children Gene, Ming, Kim and Kyrena; K.C. (Melisa) Sund of Minnesota and their daughter Madyson; one and two sisters: Delmer Sund of Duluth, MN; Janice (Dale) Steffen of Cooperstown, N.D.; Gerd Meyers of Sawyer, N.D.
