PAUL L. PRANGE, 94, longtime Cherokee, Iowa resident, passed away Tuesday morning, October 27, 2009 in the Holstein Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral and Masonic services will be held on Friday, October 30th at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Boothby Funeral Home. Paul was born on July 18, 1915 at Sioux City, Iowa to A.T. "Gus" and Maude (Munson) Prange. He graduated from Washta High School in 1932 and then attended Junior College in Cherokee for two years. He worked for Cherokee County Maintenance Department for several years and he enjoyed working on electronics. Paul was an avid ham radio operator. He and his wife would spend the weekends at their cabin at the lakes and go fishing. He also enjoyed camping and gardening. He was a 50 year member of Speculative Masonic Lodge #307 A.F & A.M. in Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathryn on December 9, 1994, and 3 brothers.
He is survived by one sister: Alys Henderson of Manchester, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
