Obituary
PAUL L. ROETHLER, 62, of Cherokee, Iowa, died Wednesday morning October 8, 2008 in the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Private family services will be held at a later date. It was Paul's wishes to be cremated. There will be no visitation. The Boothby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Paul was born on June 26, 1946 at LeMars, Iowa to Raymond & Imelda (Kass) Roethler. He had worked as a farmhand in the Marcus area, had worked at the Cherokee County Landfill for a short time and worked as a handyman here in Cherokee. He enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors, coins, attending fairs, tractor pulls and watching old westerns.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Eleanor Thompson.
He is survived by a daughter: Patty Vavra and her husband K.J. of Omaha, Nebraska; his mother Imelda Roethler of Marcus, Iowa; 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Mark Roethler and his wife Mary of Marcus, Iowa; Wayne Roethler and his wife Doreen of Leesburg, Florida; Marvin Roethler of Lawton, Iowa; Shirley Dunne and her husband Joseph of Leesburg, Florida; Joan Tentinger and her husband Bill of LeMars, Iowa; Julie Hoeg and her husband Randy of Wapello, Iowa.
