PEGGY LYNN STIENEKE, 37, of Holstein, Iowa passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Bob Stoudt will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Peggy was born January 17, 1972 at Cherokee, Iowa to Marvin and Judy (Huffman) Stieneke. She was baptized on May 5, 1984 at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, Iowa. She graduated from Willow Community Schools in the Class of 1990. Peggy was currently working as a residential staff worker for Ida Services Inc. in Holstein, Iowa. She had been a resident of Holstein the past 10 years and prior to this had lived in Quimby.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
She is survived by her fiancé: Yancy Smith and his children Dalton and Mellissa Smith of Holstein, Iowa; her mother Judy Stieneke of Washta, Iowa; her father Marvin Stieneke of Washta, Iowa; her maternal grandmother Lela Huffman of Washta, Iowa; her sisters and brother: Nita Stieneke of Washta, Iowa; Wanda Stieneke of Cherokee, Iowa; Darlene "Sis" Stieneke of Washta, Iowa; Susan & Shawn Allen of Arizona; Bryan Stieneke of Washta, Iowa; Rachel & Zach Goettsch of Holstein, Iowa; seven nieces, four nephews and two aunts.
