PENNY JEAN HUDSON, 38, of Cherokee, Iowa. passed away Wednesday morning, November 3, 2010 in the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 6th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Chaplain Craig Cummins will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home. It was Penny's wish to be cremated. Penny was born on February 16, 1972 at Sioux City, Iowa to Richard & Sheryl Hoeppner. She graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1990. She attended the University of Phoenix for 2 years. She was married to John Hudson on March 24, 2005 in Cherokee, Iowa. She had worked for Liberty Food Service for 4 years and then Tyson Foods in Cherokee for 15 years until her health failed. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was so looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild.

She is survived by her husband John: three daughters: Cassie Schmidt, Cheyenne Hudson and Sierra Hudson all at home in Cherokee, Iowa; three step-children: Phelan Hudson of Larrabee, Iowa; Destiny Hudson of Larrabee, Iowa; Trevor Hudson of Apache Junction, Arizona; 3 sisters: Bridgette Epperson of Concordia, Missouri; Brenda Schweback of Cherokee, Iowa; Becky Hoeppner of Cherokee, Iowa; 1 brother Ron Schweback and his wife Kim of Cherokee, Iowa.
