Obituary

Ramona Sue Weins , 77, of Fort Dodge died on Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, IA.

Visitation and a time of sharing memories with the family will be held on Saturday, August 22nd from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Please practice social distancing and masks are required. Burial will follow the visitation at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Ramona Sue Weins, the daughter of Meredith and Marian (Cosier) Morrow was born on October 9, 1942 in Cherokee, IA. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1961. Ramona was a successful realtor for ReMax for many years. She was a member of the Fort Dodge Chamber of Commerce Board for six years and she served as Chamber President in 2001. In 2003, Ramona was honored with the Athena Award from the Fort Dodge Chamber of Commerce. Ramona also served on the Friendship Haven Board, the Trinity United Methodist Church Finance Committee, and the Foundation and Hospice Boards and the Community Action Network Board for Trinity Regional Hospital. She was also an active member of the Kiwanis Club, as well as many other city and neighborhood betterment groups. She was also involved in many local and state political campaigns. Ramona loved the community of Fort Dodge and worked in service of the community her whole adult life.

Ramona is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Fred Sinkevich) Weins of Des Moines and Roxanne (Ryan Kleinsmith) Weins of Coralville; her granddaughter, Hailey; and her siblings, Darlene Badrick of Portland, OR, Orville (Ruth) Morrow of Sioux City, and Dan (Pam) Morrow of Cherokee.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Meredith and Marian; her brother, Mike Morrow; and her sister Karen Utesch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church, Iowa Public Television, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
