RANDALL L. "RANDY" BRUNING, 60, of Quimby, Iowa passed away Sunday evening, February 28, 2016 at his son's residence in Holstein, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 5th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Quimby Community Center. Randy's remains were cremated and there will be no visitation. Burial of the cremains will be in the Quimby Cemetery at a later date. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Randy was born on December 16, 1955 at Cherokee, Iowa to Freeman & Frances (Kastengren) Bruning. He attended Willow Community School. He was married to Diana Hunziker on July 30, 1979 at Sac City, Iowa. He had worked at the Dry Ice Plant in Galva, Iowa and at Tyson Foods in Cherokee, retiring in 2012. He was affiliated with the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, Iowa. He enjoyed drawing (doodling) and cruising around the county.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two step-brothers Larry and Dennis Vesgaard, and an uncle Garland Bruning.

He is survived by his son: Jeremy Bruning and fiancé Jenny Brockman of Holstein, Iowa; two grandchildren Jacob & Ethan Bruning; three step-grandchildren: Andrew, Mabel & Ethan Brockman; brother and sister: Steve Bruning of Ida Grove, Iowa; Linda (Steve) Sones of Quimby, Iowa; two nieces and a nephew: Jennifer (Michael) Beazley, Becky Bruning, and Chris Bruning.
