RICHARD E. "DICK"  MATHISON, 78, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Thursday evening, October 4, 2018 in Accura Healthcare at Cherokee, Iowa.

Richard was born on July 11, 1940 at Sioux City, Iowa to Clarence & Gladys (Metcalf) Mathison. He attended Sioux City Schools. He was married to Kelly Frank on May 5, 1970 in Sioux City, Iowa.

He grew up in the Sioux City area. He had also lived in Seattle, Washington for several years working as a Hotel Manager, before moving back to Sioux City 20 years ago. While in Sioux City he had worked as a bartender and bouncer, and had been a taxicab driver until his retirement. Richard enjoyed going to the Siouxland Senior Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert Mathison, and his significant other Donna Cagley.

He is survived by his three children: Catherine Mathison of Sioux City, Iowa; Loralai Mosey of Sioux City, Iowa; Terri Hua of Sioux City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Pflanz of Sioux City, Iowa; Delores Kennedy of Littleton, Colorado; also several nieces and nephews.
