RICHARD C. HEIN, 74, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 30th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa. Pastor John Erickson will officiate. Richard was born January 24, 1939 in Kingsley, Iowa to Dale and Ruth (Anderson) Hein. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1957. While living in Cherokee he was employed in the shoe repair business and operated his own shoe repair shop for a short time. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He lived in Colorado for 2 years where he worked in the shoe repair business before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where he was employed by Hilton Hotel Corp. for many years. He moved back to Cherokee in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dale Hein and Ruth Hein Lindsay, his step-father Lee Lindsay, two uncles Darrel & Harold Hein, one aunt Lois Parr and several cousins.

He is survived by 4 cousins; Dennis (Jackie) Hein of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Jerry (Becky) Hein of Des Moines, Iowa; Dianna Peterson of Des Moines, Iowa; John (Laurie) Hein of Forest City, Iowa.
