ROBERT L. BECKER, 97, of Cleghorn, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 9, 2022 at Cherokee Specialty Care.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate.  Burial will be in the LeMars Memorial Park Cemetery at LeMars, Iowa.  Military rites will be performed at the graveside.  Following interment, the family invites everyone back to the Faith Lutheran Church in Marcus, Iowa for refreshments and a time of fellowship.  Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com .

Mr. Becker was born on March 6, 1925 in LeMars, Iowa, the son of Al and Maurene Becker.  He graduated from LeMars High School and Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa.  He was married to Betty Rohlfsen in 1949, until her death in 1991.  Robert was a World War II Army Veteran and later taught music in several communities in Iowa and Nebraska.  They later retired in rural Marcus in 1989.  After Betty's death in 1991, he moved to Cleghorn, Iowa with his son, Kurt.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marcus, Iowa.

Survivors include one son, Kurt of Cleghorn, Iowa; one daughter, Lisa Lewis of San Diego, California; one brother, Louis of Iowa City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty, and three brothers, Gene, Dale, and Kenneth.
