ROBERT D. “BOB” GRIENKE, 71, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Bob was born on October 8, 1955 to Fred and LaVon (Holmes) Grienke at Storm Lake, Iowa. He attended Washington High School. He worked as a welder and machinist for Caswell’s, and then at Lundell Manufacturing and OBECO and before finishing his career at VT Industries for 17 years before his retirement.

In his free time he enjoyed drag racing, classic cars, astrology, and creating metal art and welding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Raoul) Faulkner of Sanborn, Iowa; five grandchildren Allyson (Isaiah) Wallinga, Matthew Wallinga, Nevaeh (Bryce) Almager, Chayton Faulkner, and Gavin (Lainie) Faulkner; 1 great grandson Cohen Wallinga; sister Sue Rupp of Cherokee, Iowa.
