ROBERT E. MILLER, 85, of Tekamah, Nebraska, formerly of the Cherokee, Iowa area, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tekamah, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Cris Decious will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa.  Robert's remains were cremated. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the local arrangements. Robert Ernest Miller was born October 24, 1932 to Ernest J. and Anna (West) Miller in Woodbury County near Moville, Iowa.
Robert attended several country schools and graduated from Cushing Consolidated School in Cushing, Iowa. He received an Associates Degree from Metropolitan Technical Community College in Omaha, Nebraska.

He served in the United States Army from January 22, 1953 until January 14, 1956. He was stationed in Japan where he repaired medical equipment in a hospital.


January 25, 1958, he married Liane C. Jensen in Cherokee, Iowa. They lived most of their married life in Omaha where Robert worked as a dental equipment repairman and a truck driver.


He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Liane; two daughters, Linda Miller and Cynthia Hansen; two sisters, Lola Miller and Berna Jenness; brother, Daniel D. Miller; sister-in-law, Betty Miller; two brothers-in-law, Howard Jenness and John Dallmann.


He is survived by his two granddaughters, Melissa (Toby) Kragel of Rush, CO and Becky (Bryan) Vail of Colorado Springs, CO; two brothers, Marvin of Storm Lake, IA and Ben (Mary Ellen) of Axtell, NE; sister, Mary Dallmann of Tekamah; sister-in-law, Melva Miller of Paullina, IA; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
