ROBERT C. PETLON , 95, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed on to Glory on Wednesday morning, November 8, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11th, at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Jeff Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the Elk Township Cemetery, north of Alta, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Robert was born on July 17, 1922 at the family farm north of Aurelia, Iowa. He graduated in 1938 from Aurelia School District. Robert then spent his life farming until retiring at 75 years old at his family farm. He was a devoted husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth on August 7, 2007, and all of his siblings.
He is survived by four daughters and one son; Linda Adams of Sioux City; Lana Petlon of Cherokee; Barbara Cresap of Cherokee; Debra Petlon of Sioux City; Randy Petlon of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
