RONALD W. KRACHT, 76, of Peterson, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015 in the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center at Storm Lake, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10th, at 11 a.m. at the St. John's Church, rural Peterson, Iowa. Pastor Don Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in the St. John's Church Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Ronald was born on September 1, 1938 at Cherokee, Iowa to George & Lulu (Tigges) Kracht. He graduated from Brooke Consolidated School in 1956. He farmed all his life until his retirement. He also drove school bus for the Brooke Consolidated School for several years. He had been a resident of the Sioux Care Center in Sioux Rapids since April of 2009 and prior to that was a lifelong Peterson, Iowa resident. He enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds and picture painting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, 4 sisters and brothers-in-law: Marjorie & Ed Murphy, Janet & Don Bob Hoover, Arlene & Ralph Brown, Erma & Calvin Christensen; a brother and sister-in-law Robert & Ida "Bunny" Kracht; 2 brothers-in-law: Bruce Saunders and Jim Reed.

He is survived by one brother and two sisters: Herbert (Iva May) Kracht of Peterson, Iowa; Jean Saunders of Peterson, Iowa; Luella Reed of Spencer, Iowa; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
