Ronald Lee Schutt, age 85, passed away peacefully in Shell Knob, Missouri, on August 29, 2026.

Ronald was born on September 3, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa, to Ralph and Inez Schutt. The family moved to Quimby, IA and later settled in nearby Cherokee, IA. During his youth, he enjoyed many outdoor adventures with his brother, Bill.

On February 25,1962, Ron was united in marriage to Brenda (Erickson) Schutt. Ron and Brenda shared 64 years of marriage, raising their two sons and creating a lifetime of memories together.

Ron began his career working for Mill Creek Construction in Cherokee, IA. During that time, he became a master mason. In 1978, Ron took the next step in his career and started his own business, Schutt Masonry. He took great pride in his work and in the craftsmanship he shared with others throughout his many years in the trade.

Upon retirement, Ron and Brenda moved to Shell Knob, MO to enjoy the beautiful scenery and became actively involved in the business community.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Brenda; his two sons, Timothy (Stephanie) Schutt of Lascassas, TN, and Mark (Shannon) Schutt of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Tony (Makenzie) Schutt of Cottleville, MO, Ian (Jheri) Schutt of Spring Hill, TN, Alex Schutt of Grimes, IA , Sydney Schutt of Kansas City, MO and Mason Schutt of Kansas City, MO; and his great-grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Tilly, Barron, and Calvin Schutt.

He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Carroll, Ruth King, Donna Lehmann, and sister-in-law Debra Schutt.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Inez Schutt, and siblings, William (Sandy) Schutt, Dennis Schutt, and Dianna Schutt, and his brother-in-law, John Lehmann.

Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through his family, his work, and the memories shared by those who loved him.

A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Shell Knob on Saturday, September 5 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care of Shell Knob Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared with the family at shellknobfuneralhome.com.
