ROY W. WILSON , 78, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away peacefully Friday morning, May 25, 2018 in Careage Hills.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 16 ^th , at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Pinky Person will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be on Saturday morning June 16 ^th from 9 a.m. until service time at the Boothby Funeral Home. Roy was born August 28, 1939 at Cherokee, Iowa to William & Dorothy (Jenness) Wilson. He attended Willow Community Schools graduating in 1960. He had worked for a bakery in Cherokee for a few years, some other odd jobs and then for Sleezer Roofing for several years. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church and Faith in Christ Fellowship in Cherokee. Roy enjoyed playing cards, games, crafts, family gatherings and talking to friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beulah Torgerson, brother Tomy Wilson, brother-in-law Earl Anderson.

He is survived by 5 sisters and 2 brothers: Anna Mae Polson of Story City, Iowa; Marie Anderson of Cherokee, Iowa; Gladys Torgerson of Des Moines, Iowa; Julia (Roger) Edwards of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Martha (Rex) Buttolph of Texas; Wayne Wilson of Spencer, Iowa; Donald (Connie) Wilson of Cherokee, Iowa; brother-in-law Roger Torgerson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews.
