RUTH ELSIE STEVENSON , 99, of Holstein, Iowa, formerly of Quimby, Iowa passed away Tuesday evening, December 8, 2020 in the Holstein Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14 ^th , at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holstein, Iowa. Pastor Bob Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 13 ^th from 12 noon until 4 p.m. with the family present from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  During the visitation only 15 people at a time will be allowed in the funeral home. Please practice social distancing and masks will be required at the visitation and the funeral. Elsie was born March 20, 1921 at a rural farm house near Quimby, Iowa to Ernest and Sophia (Carlson) Klingborg. Elsie attended rural country schools in Quimby and later graduated from Grand Meadow High School in May of 1938. Elsie worked for Simonsen Mill after graduation. Elsie was united in marriage to Clifford Roy Stevenson on January 20, 1951 in Quimby, Iowa and they were faithfully together for over 61 years. They had two sons, Daniel and David. Cliff and Elsie owned and operated several businesses through the years. The final business venture was Stevenson Hardware where Elsie was faithfully by Cliff's side to help manage.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Cliff on October 29, 2012, her parents, brothers Oscar, Axel, and Carl, sister Greta Magnusson, sisters-in-law Leoma and Charlotte Klingborg, Betty Stevenson, Betty Ball, brothers-in-law Dick and Vernon Stevenson, Ivar Magnusson, and Jim Ball

Elsie is survived by her two sons: Dan (Jill) Stevenson of Des Moines, Iowa; Dave (Bonnie) Stevenson of Holstein, Iowa; six grandchildren: Davey (Roxy), Brandon (Shanade), AJ (Kim), Shelby (Sasha), Kolby all of Holstein, Iowa; Skylar of Le Mars, Iowa; eight great grandchildren: Evelyn, Aiden, Trinity, Olivia, Indy, Connor, Kennedy and Ella; also several nieces and nephews.
