SCOTT  I.  STINES , 36 of rural Cleghorn, Iowa passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Memorial services will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jon Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Cherokee Memory Gardens.  Visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home. Scott was born on July 1, 1985 in Tucson, Arizona.  He attended Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Schools, graduating in 2003.  He was united in marriage to Margaret Gillette on February 5, 2008 at Cherokee, Iowa and together they had one son, Isaac.

Scott had worked for Fareway, Mertz Hydraulics, and ICON Ag Solutions.

He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with family and friends and playing football and basketball with his son.

Scott is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Robert Mahnke, paternal grandparents Lloyd and Arlene Stines Sr.; aunts Julie Mahnke, Toni Castaneda, Geneva Pocock, and a cousin Josh Steffens.

Survivors include his son Isaac Stines of Webster City, Iowa; parents Rick and Kathy Stines of Cleghorn, Iowa; siblings Nicholas Stines of Meriden, Iowa, Kayla Stines of Correctionville, Iowa, and Kimberly Stines of Sioux Center, Iowa; nephews Brayden and Noah Stines, and nieces, Juliauna and Journey Stines; maternal grandmother Norma Mahnke; uncle Steve Mahnke of Cherokee, Iowa and aunt Vicki Steffens of Correctionville, Iowa; also several cousins.
