SHIRLEY G. GRIFFIN, 90, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Friday morning, May 13, 2016 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Gregg Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Shirley was born September 19, 1925 at Plankington, South Dakota to Ted & Ethel (Hawkins) Kramer. She attended country school near Kingsley, Iowa and graduated from Cherokee Wilson High School in 1942. She worked in the food and restaurant business for many years working at Speelmon's, Green Gables and later for Hawley Allison's Clothing Store, retiring in June of 1980. She was affiliated with the Christian Church. Shirley enjoyed Nascar Racing, football, sewing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Russell and Marvin Kramer, sisters Mabel Reedy and Beverly Reisner.

She is survived by her six children: Bill (Gloria) Brady of Cherokee, Iowa; Larry (Louise) Chinn of Humboldt, Iowa; Sue Wright of Cherokee, Iowa and her special friend David Smith; Ellen (Ron) Wolterman of Cherokee, Iowa; Mike Chinn of Cherokee, Iowa; Kathy Chinn of Alta, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
