Tim R. Pence

TIMOTHY R. PENCE, 63, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Kee/Stirs V.F.W. in Cherokee, Iowa. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Tim was born on July 1, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Keith and Phyllis (Von Spreecken) Pence. After earning his G.E.D., he went to work at Wilson Foods. He then began a career at Holzhauer Motors where he worked for many years. He was currently employed at Total Motors in Holstein, where he took great pride in his work as a detailer.

Tim had a deep love for classic cars, especially his 1973 ’Cuda and 1964 Cadillac Series 62. He enjoyed spending time in the garage restoring them and taking them out for drives. A skilled woodworker, he created many scroll-saw pieces and looked forward each year to entering his work in the Cherokee County Fair. He also loved attending classic rock concerts and cheering on his favorite teams, the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tim will be lovingly remembered by his life partner, Megan Glieck of Cherokee, Iowa; his children Amanda (Jason) Mangus of Marion, Indiana, Samantha (Michael) Wilson of Hartford City, Indiana, Dante (Ayreka) Gordon of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Jada Booher of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 11 grandchildren with one more on the way; his siblings Brad (Frankie) Pence of Pacifica, California, and Penny Pence of Oceanside, California; and his nephews Chad (Julie) Pence of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and their children Sam and Lauren, Dustin (Andrea) Pence of Waunakee, Wisconsin and their children Madalyn and Jack, and Ryan (Kimberly) Pence of Carlsbad, California and their children Theo and Dylan.
