Tyson R. Stevenson, 44 of Quimby, IA passed away Sunday evening, February 16, 2020 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa due to an unexpected heart attack.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 22nd, at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, IA. Pastor David Doellinger and Pastor Don Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m. at the church on Saturday. Visitation with the family present will be on Friday February 21st from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, IA. Tyson was born October 17, 1975 at Cherokee, IA to Richard & Elaine (Grell) Stevenson Jr. He attended River Valley High School and then attended Western Iowa Tech in Mapleton, IA for electrical engineering. Tyson married his best friend Debie Dalton on May 4, 2002 at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, IA. He had worked at Holstein Manufacturing doing fabrication work for many years, at Holzhauer Motors as a mechanic, and was currently working in the maintenance department at Hy-Vee Warehouse.
Tyson was a confirmed member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby. He was a member of the Quimby Fire Department, Moon Crickets Club and Pheasants Forever. Tyson loved time spent with his family and friends while camping, hunting, fishing and attending sprint car races. Among many things important to Tyson was his love of his dogs, especially Ozzie and Weatherby. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan and would do anything to watch the Sunday game including taking a tree down to get better reception.
He was preceded in death by death by his father Richard Stevenson Jr, his maternal grandparents Reynold & Bette Grell, paternal grandparents Dick & Betty Stevenson, father-in-law Eddie Dalton, brother-in-law Dale Dalton and sister in-law Teresa Dalton.
He is survived by his wife Debie; three children: Carre Stevenson and her significant other Brekken Roberts of Sioux City IA; Tejay Stevenson of Quimby, IA; and a special nephew Dylan Dalton and his fiancee Kelsi Pry of Galva, IA; his mother Elaine Stevenson of Quimby, IA; two brothers and one sister: Troy (Kim) Stevenson and Tracy (Angie) Stevenson all of Quimby, IA; Teanna (Mike) Athanasakis of Clarksville, TN: his mother in-law: Collene Dalton & Larry Long of Washta, IA; three brother in-laws; Donnie Dalton and Doug (Tammy) Dalton all of Cherokee, IA; Danny Dalton of Quimby, IA.
