VIRGIL L. LUDVIGSON, 70, of rural Washta, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at his farm home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Jean Morse will officiate. Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Virgil was born January 21, 1944 at Holstein, Iowa to Clarence & LaVerna (LaFrentz) Ludvigson. He graduated from Willow High School in 1962. He had farmed and worked as a hired man most of his life. He was affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Virgil enjoyed horseback riding, camping, collecting guns and working around the farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, a brother Kenneth Ludvigson, a sister Mary Ann Fassler and a nephew Leif Ludvigson.
He is survived by his siblings: Shirley McCoy and her husband Howard of Quimby, Iowa; Franklin Ludvigson and his wife Katherine of Paullina, Iowa; Annabelle Prunty and her husband Charles of Cherokee, Iowa; a brother-in-law James Fassler of Quimby, Iowa; a sister-in-law Kathleen Ludvigson of Washta, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews
