WILLIAM H. "BILL" JOINES, 91, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Merritt Demski will officiate.  Visitation with the family present will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home located at 207 E. Main Street in Cherokee, Iowa.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa.  Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

Bill was born on January 7, 1935 to Frank and Enid (Shove) Joines at Cherokee, Iowa.  He graduated from Washington High School in 1954.  He was united in marriage on October 24, 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa to Bonnie Hagenbucher.

Bill worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement in 1997.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.  He was also a member of the Red Power Tractor Club.

In his free time he enjoyed antique tractors and automobile restoration.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Enid Joines, wife Bonnie Joines, son-in-law Scott Blades, brothers Robert and Richard Joines.

Bill is survived by his children Steven (Susan) Joines of Woodbury, Minnesota, Michael (Terri) Joines of West Des Moines, Iowa, Gregory (Heather) Joines of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and Brenda Blades of Edgemont, South Dakota; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Barbara Joines of Seneca, South Carolina and Donna (Daryl) Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa.
