Obituary

WILLIAM L. "BILL" STOVER , 62, of Quimby, Iowa passed away Saturday morning, March 15, 2014 in the Countryside Estates.

A prayer service and time of sharing memories will be held on Monday evening, March 17 th , at 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Barb Dinelli will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday, at the Boothby Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Additional services and burial will be on Thursday at the Deer Creek Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bill was born on February 21, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Birdie Lee & Geraldine (Holden) Stover. He attended Fox Chapel High School. He had worked as an auto mechanic, truck driver, worked construction and was a welder. Bill retired in February of 1997. He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Little Sioux Wildlife Association. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar Racing, bluegrass music and he loved spending time with his special buddy (his dog Smokey). He had been a resident of Quimby the past 13 years and prior to this had lived in Cherokee since 1989, and was originally from Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his significant other of 22 years Cathy Smith of Quimby, Iowa; 2 sons: William Stover Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Michael Stover of Ft. Myers, Florida; 2 grandchildren: Aiden and Jada; 5 brothers and sisters and their families: Van (Melinda) Stover of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; Teri Livingston and her son Jake of Jacksonville, Florida; Susie (Daren) Babin and their children Mike, Julia, and Brandie of Fairview, Tennessee; Tracy Stover and her children Nicole and Joey of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Tammy (Daryl) Smith and their daughter Christina of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
