YVONNE LEE  AMUNDSON , 84, of Cherokee, Iowa, formerly of Remsen, Iowa,  passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 2018 in Accura Healthcare at Cherokee, Iowa

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6 ^th , at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Eric Wright will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5th from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Yvonne was born April 7, 1934 at Cherokee, Iowa to Corwin & Elma (Nelson) Crary. She graduated from Larrabee Consolidated Schools in 1952. She was married to Ronald Amundson on October 3, 1953 in her parents home at Larrabee, Iowa. After graduation, she lived in Larrabee and worked for Dr. Kass in Sutherland, Iowa until Ronald returned from deployment to Korea. They then moved to a farm near Remsen, Iowa. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Yvonne had been active in Presbyterian Women at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in LeMars and the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee. She belonged to a Pinochle Club with neighbors and the Pleasant Hour Birthday Club. Yvonne's passion for learning family history led her to a decades' long interest in genealogical research. She became known as the family historian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, sister JoAnn Selleck, granddaughter-in-law Amanda Anderson, brother-in-law Quince Whittle, sister-in-law LaDona Fleming.

She is survived by her three children: Bruce (Donna) Amundson of Larrabee, Iowa; Beth Anderson of Anthon, Iowa; Brian (Janet) Amundson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren: Christy (Derrick) Alquist; Colleen (Scot) Ladenthin; Carl (Jenessa) Amundson; Eugene Anderson (fiancé Molly); Rebecca Anderson; Heather (Patrick) Lobejko; Eric (Lauren) Amundson; 10 great grandchildren: Tyler & Lindsey Alquist; Miken & Oakley Ladenthin; Juniper & Magnolia Amundson; Sam & Molly Lobejko; Amelia & Audrey Amundson; brother-in-law Jim Selleck of Storm Lake, Iowa; sister-in-law Ardith Whittle of Omaha, Nebraska.

The family requests memorials be made to the Lakeshore Center at Okoboji.
